Coke’s designated driver campaign sees all drivers rewarded with free soft drink

With the festive season upon us, you are more than likely to be going out celebrating with your friends. Whilst enjoying the festivity it’s important to remember that alcohol can slow you down and affect your body’s responses, making your driving unsafe, putting your life and others at risk.  That’s why when you’re the designated driver it’s important to abstain from alcohol, as even one drink can impair your judgement.

As a thank you to all designated drivers, helping loved ones get home safely over  Christmas and New Year’s Eve, Coke has launched a special ‘buy one, get one free’ offer across a range of soft drinks at pubs, bars and restaurants all across the country, including many rural locations.

And all you have to do to claim your free drink is show your keys to the bar.

“Drivers know that drink driving is wrong. It can destroy families and ruin lives. Yet some people at Christmas will still take the risk and get behind the wheel when they shouldn’t,” says Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, Andrew Jones MP.

“Over the past thirty years drink drive deaths have fallen significantly but every death or serious injury is one too many. The best way for drivers to keep themselves and other road users safe is simple: don’t drink and drive.”

This is the 10th year coke have run this campaign in partnership with the government’s THINK! road safety initiative, from 1-31 December at over 7,000  pubs, bars and restaurants across the country.
