Kim Kardashian, Cara Delevigne and Rihanna are taking to their social media to demand justice, for a young woman who has spent 13 years in prison for killing a man who abused her, keeping her as a sex slave when she was just 16 years old. Ending their posts with #FreeCyntoiaBrown the posts have gone viral highlighting the case worldwide to millions.
The system has failed. It’s heart breaking to see a young girl sex trafficked then when she has the courage to fight back is jailed for life! We have to do better & do what’s right. I’ve called my attorneys yesterday to see what can be done to fix this. #FreeCyntoiaBrown pic.twitter.com/73y26mLp7u

THIS IS WRONG ‼️ We’re is the Justice Here❓”We started the conversation, this is a young girl who’s at the tail end of three generations of violence against women,”Cyntoia, her grandmother, and mother were all raped. “She had no chance,”#freecyntoiabrown#injusticepic.twitter.com/9m2saSsQws

People ask why women don’t fight back harder, against rapists, against abusers, against predators, because when we do, we are punished. The system is used against women, specifically women of color. #FreeCyntoiaBrown pic.twitter.com/rMwgs2hCfh

this girls life has been taken through trafficking & isolation by disgusting men USING this girl as a sexual object yet the one moment she gained the courage to stand up for herself, using self defence as an act of protecting herself she’s the criminal? Wrong #FreeCyntoiaBrown

So this needs to be addressed and rectified. This is a huge miscarriage of justice. Spread the word. It’s too dreadful. #FreeCyntoiaBrown pic.twitter.com/64NgTYxrJL

This is one of the times that social media’s impact can be used for good. This is something we need to make noise about, we need to get her out because the system has failed to do so, she deserves to be free! #FreeCyntoiaBrown
